Cruise Reports Value Index = 16.2
Cruise Reports Quality Rating = 9.5

Strengths:

Very personable captain/staff • Crystal ships are above the rest and stand alone in their category • No wants go unattended • Ship size; not too big • Nice accommodations, staff and cuisine • Upscale, luxury • Shows were the best

Weaknesses:

Two dinner seatings • Coffee • Spa tries to sell way too much

Other Observations

Everything about this ship is first class • There are a lot of sea days on a crossing. To entertain this, Crystal adds more lecture sessions which are very educational • With Crystal you travel in style • There is no competition with this size ship; not too big and not too small

Who Should Take This Cruise:

Seniors • Baby-boomers • Affluent and upscale people

Who Should Not:

Families with small children • Party animals

Editors Comments:

The Crystal Symphony and its sister ship, Crystal Harmony, have been the subject of more than a few debates among cruise aficionados. The ships win virtually unanimous praise for their service, cuisine, amenities and facilities, but opinion is strongly divided on the subject of their two-sittings/assigned seating policy.
